Wisconsin Interfaith Voter Engagement Campaign

“The right to vote is almost sacred. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have in a democracy.” –Rep. John Lewis We are engaging the interfaith community in the democratic process. It is our belief that engaging in this work will build increased understanding and stronger ties among different faith communities; increase engagement in the electoral process; and result in a greater understanding by faith communities of the influential role they can play in the public square. Widespread voter engagement is needed to ensure that elected leaders will pay attention to the needs of all their constituents, especially those who are least often listened to, and who have the most at stake in the decisions made by our elected officials.

The Wisconsin Interfaith Voter Engagement Campaign is committed to combatting racism in the U.S.

We at the Interfaith Voter Engagement Campaign stand with the Black community in the fight against racism. We commit to educating ourselves and others to be the best allies we can. Racism is not a partisan issue; it is a human issue…Leviticus 19:16 enjoins us “Do not stand idly by while your neighbor bleeds.” Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. “Let us pledge not to be silent, but to speak out and work against racism in Wisconsin and the United States. We believe that all faith voters in Wisconsin can come together in support of Black Lives by working for systemic change, engaging with protests, educating ourselves, and by voting and defending everyone’s right to vote.
